HANOVER, N.H. -- After nine years in Hanover working with the Dartmouth heavyweight rowers — eight as the head coach — Topher Bordeau will not return for the 2014-15 season.

"It is always difficult to make decisions that impact good people and their families," Dartmouth Director of Athletics and Recreation Harry Sheehy said. "This one was especially difficult. Topher has been a first-class member of the department and the Dartmouth community during his nine years in Hanover. We thank him for his hard work and dedication."

Bordeau's crew took fifth at the Eastern Sprints in 2010 before going on to an eighth-place finish at the IRA National Championship. The following season, the Big Green finished eighth at the Sprints and 14th at the IRAs. Off the water, Bordeau helped to dramatically increase fundraising that contributed to numerous improvements, including a significant upgrade in the program’s equipment.

A national search for a new head coach will begin immediately.
