WORCESTER, Mass. -- Lake Quinsigamond in Worcester, Mass. is the destination once again for Ivy League men's heavyweight and lightweight teams for the 2014 Eastern Association of Rowing College (EARC) Sprints.

Racing for the League's eight heavyweight and seven lightweight men's crews begin on Sunday, May 18 with heats at 7:45 a.m. and finals at 1:30 p.m. The winner in the respective first varsity eight grand finals is deemed Ivy League champion.

In the heavyweight competition, Yale looks to hoist the Marc Bergschneider Ivy League Heavyweight Trophy for the first time since 1982. The Bulldogs come in as the top seed after their top boat has enjoyed unblemished spring. Yale will be challenged by a host of Ivy foes including second-seeded Harvard, third-seeded Princeton, fourth-seeded Brown and fifth-seeded Cornell.

The Big Red's lightweights have also put together an impressive season with its first varsity eight placing first in all five spring regattas. Cornell seeks a chance to take home the Michael W. Christian Ivy League Lightweight Trophy for the ninth time and the first time since 2008. Top challengers just behind the Big Red include another Ivy foursome of Columbia, Princeton, Yale and Harvard.
