NEW HAVEN, Conn. -- The Columbia University men's golf team finished up its 2010 season on Saturday afternoon at the NCAA East Regional. Sophomore Brendan Doyle closed out his second season as a Lion in fine fashion, posting a team-best round of 68.

First-year Michael Yiu was the low finisher for Columbia as he finished the three-day tournament at even-par 210 after a final-round 70. Yiu tied for 21st overall individually.

The Lions finished the tournament in 13th place and had three straight sub-300 rounds. Texas and Kent State tied for the team title at five-under par 835 while TJ Howe of Penn State and Rhys Enoch of East Tennessee State closed as the top individual finishers through 54 holes at seven-under 203.

The Longhorns and Golden Flash advance to the NCAA Championships on June 1-6 in Chattanooga, Tenn., as do UCLA, Penn State and Virginia. Enoch of ETSU will also make an appearance at the event as the low finisher on a non-qualifying team.
