Penn, Dartmouth's Williamson Headed To NCAA Regionals

INDIANAPOLIS -- The NCAA Division I Men’s Golf Committee selected the teams and individuals to participate in the 2012 NCAA Division I Men’s Golf Championships, including Ivy League Champion Penn as well as Dartmouth's Peter Williamson.
Penn will play in the Bowling Green, Ky., regional. The Quakers are the 13th seed out of 14 teams in the regional, which will be hosted by Western Kentucky University and played at The Club at Olde Stone from May 17-19. The Bowling Green regional features seven teams that were conference champions. The top seed is UCLA, while Arkansas is the second seed. Big 12 champion Texas A&M is the third seed.
Three-time Ivy League medalist Williamson will play in the Ann Arbor Regional, which will feature 13 teams and 10 individuals playing, from May 17-19 at the U-M Golf Course.
Six 54-hole regional tournaments will be conducted May 17-19. Thirteen teams and ten individuals not on those teams will compete at each of three regionals while the other three regionals will have 14 teams and five individuals not on those teams. The low five teams and the low individual not on those teams from each regional will advance to the finals.
The finals will be conducted May 29-June 3, at The Riviera Country Club in Pacific Palisades, California. Southern California is the host institution for this year’s championships.
