Eight Ivy League Men's Lacrosse Players Named Inside Lacrosse Preseason All-Americans

PRINCETON, N.J. –- A combined eight Ivy League men's lacrosse players were named to the various Inside Lacrosse 2011 Division I men’s lacrosse preseason All-America teams on Thursday, including first team selections Rob Pannell, a Cornell attackman, and Princeton defenseman Chad Wiedmaier.

The second team features three Tigers and a member of the Big Red. For Princeton, attackman Jack McBride, midfielder Mike Chanenchuk (selections were made before Chanenchuk announced he was withdrawing from school for the 2011 academic year) and goalie Tyler Fiorito earned second team status, as did Cornell defenseman Max Feely. The preseason All-America third team includes Princeton longstick midfielder John Cunningham and Brown defenseman Peter Fallon.

Four Ivy League teams landed in Inside Lacrosse’s Face-Off Yearbook 2011 Pre-Season Poll. Cornell led the way, placing fourth, while Princeton also cracked the top-10 at tenth. Brown was selected 16th, while Yale earned the 17th spot. In the Coaches’ Poll, Princeton placed sixth and Cornell ninth.
