PRINCETON, N.J. -- The 55th season of Ivy League men's lacrosse gets underway this weekend as the seven Ivy teams begin play with a full slate of nonconference games on Saturday, Feb. 26.

Seventh-ranked Princeton finds itself in one of the nation's marquee matchups this weekend, as the Tigers travel to Long Island to take on the eighth-ranked Hofstra Pride. Princeton meets a Hoftsra team that has opened 2011 with wins over Colgate (6-3) and Sacred Heart (10-6).

Penn and Cornell, each play host to a Noon game, with the Quakers welcoming 10th-ranked Duke and fifth-ranked Cornell getting a visit from in-state foe Hobart. The Blue Devils carry a 1-1 record into Saturday's game. They opened the season by defeating Siena (20-6) but most recently fell to Notre Dame (12-7) in a 2010 NCAA Title game rematch in Jacksonville, Fla., as part of the Sunshine Classic. Hobart carries a 1-0 mark into the weekend, having won a road game at Robert Morris (9-8) to start its year.

The other four Ivy schools will play 1:00 p.m. tilts on Saturday afternoon. Eighteenth-ranked Yale travels to Queens, N.Y. to take on St. John's, which is coming off a 16-7 win over Holy Cross. Dartmouth, Harvard and Brown all open their seasons at home, with the Big Green welcoming Colgate, Harvard playing host to Canisius and Brown welcoming the Quinnipiac Bobcats. Colgate enters its contest with Dartmouth with two losses on the year, having fallen at Hofstra (6-3) and Vermont (9-4). Canisius fell at Bucknell (17-2), while Quinnipiac will be playing its first game when it faces off against Brown.
