WASHINGTON, D.C. -- An impressive 12 Ivy League men's lacrosse players representing all seven Ivy teams have been named to the 2012 Men’s Tewaaraton Award Watch List it was announced yesterday. The list includes top players across all three divisions of collegiate lacrosse and serves to highlight the early contenders for the 2012 Tewaaraton Award.
Princeton leads the Ivies with three players named to the list, followed by Cornell (2), Harvard (2), Yale (2), Brown (1) and Dartmouth (1).
The Tewaaraton Award selection committee will make additions to the list as the season progresses. In late April, the list will be narrowed to 25 and these will earn the distinction of Tewaaarton Nominees. Then, in mid-May, the five Tewaaarton Finalists will be announced and invited to the Tewaaraton Award Ceremony, which will take place on May 31st, at the Smithsonian Institute's National Museum of the American Indian in Washington D.C.
Last season, Cornell’s Rob Pannell was a finalist for the prestigious award along with Army’s Jeremy Boltus, Syracuse’s Joel White and John Galloway, as well as Virginia’s Steele Stanwick – who went on to win the award.
