Complete Men's Lacrosse Weekly Release in pdf format

PRINCETON, N.J. -- The 57th season of Ivy League men's lacrosse gets underway this weekend with all seven Ivy teams playing in a slate of non-conference games. Six of the seven games feature ranked teams, leading off on Friday night when Penn (receiving votes in both polls this week) hosts Duke, ranked No. 13 in NIKE/Inside Lacrosse and No. 14 in USILA. The Blue Devils hit the road for the first time this season after splitting a pair the first two weekends.

On Saturday, five teams kick off their seasons with two marquee match-ups. Harvard, which is receiving votes in the coaches' poll, hosts a UMass team that finds itself No. 7 in the NIKE/IL and No. 5 in USILA after beating North Carolina last Saturday, 12-11.

The other marquee match-up features Princeton, ranked No. 14 in NIKE/IL and No. 13 in the coaches' poll, travelling across to Long Island to face Hofstra, which handled Sacred Heart, 14-9, in its opener last Saturday.

Also on Saturday, No. 20/17 Yale visits St. John's,  Brown hosts Quinnipac and Dartmouth plays host to Colgate, which is ranked No. 10 in both polls.

Cornell, the highest-ranked Ivy this week at No. 5 in NIKE/IL and No. 7 in USILA, gets things underway on Sunday when it faces Hobart as part of a tripleheader at Syracuse's Carrier Dome. The game will be televised by Time Warner Sports in parts of New York and marks the return of Big Red All-American Rob Pannell.
