PRINCETON, N.J. -- Harvard travels to Cornell this Saturday in a meeting of the two squads still unbeaten in Ivy action.
Cornell is the lone unbeaten in the nation overall at 9-0 (3-0 Ivy). Cornell has also won its last nine Ivy League regular season contests. The Crimson are 2-0 in League play and 5-4 overall (all four losses coming on the road against ranked opponents). The 3 pm start will be streamed live on The Ivy League® Digital Network.
The Big Red have won 16 straight meetings between the two going back to 1999. Harvard's last win in the series was on April 4, 1998 in Cambridge. The Crimson's last win on the road in the series came the season before, an 18-16 win on April 5, 1997. (Harvard's last win overall at Schoellkopf Field was in the Ivy League Tournament against Penn on May 6, 2011.)
The series dates back to 1895 with Cornell leading, 64-23.
Last Saturday saw some outstanding play by goalkeepers. Penn's Brian Feeney held Yale to five goals - the Bulldogs' lowest output since April 2011 - in a 6-5 win. That snapped Yale's seven-game home winning streak. Yale entered the game averaing 10.8 goals per game.
Brown's Jack Kelly had 16 saves, including 12 in the second half, to hold off Princeton, 11-10, for the Bears' first win over the Tigers since 2008. Princeton entered the game averaging 12.9 goals per game and used a furious five-goal fourth quarter to come close to that.
Cornell used four goalkeepers in shutting down Dartmouth, 19-4. The four goals were Dartmouth's fewest since April 2010.
This Saturday's slate will see all four games streamed on The Ivy League Digital Network. Penn hosts Brown and Dartmouth hosts Yale at 1 pm. Cornell hosts Harvard at 3 pm. Princeton steps out of League play to host Rutgers at 7 pm.
