CoSIDA/Capitol One Academic All-District Teams

PRINCETON, N.J. -- Four Ivies were recognized by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA), earning Capitol One Academic All-District honors. Brown's Sam Kernan-Schloss and Dylan Remick, Yale's Nick Alers and Max McKiernan were named to the District 1 first team.

Kernan-Schloss, one of the national leaders in goals against average this season, is a senior with a 3.80 GPA majoring in community health / economics. Alers is a junior with a 3.98 GPA in economics / political science. McKiernan is a junior with a 3.88 GPA in history / political science. Remick is a senior biology major with a 3.71 GPA.

The 2012 Capital One Academic All-District ® Men's Soccer Teams, selected by the College Sports Information Directors of America, recognize the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances athletically and in the classroom. Capital One has been the entitlement rights holder to CoSIDA's Academic All-America teams programs since 2011.

The Academic All-District teams are divided into eight geographic districts across the United States and Canada. This is the second year of the expanded Academic All-America program as CoSIDA moved from recognizing a University Division (Division I) and a College Division (all non Division I) and has doubled the number of scholar-athletes honored. The expanded teams include NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II and NCAA Division III participants, while the College Division team combines NAIA, Canadian and two-year schools.

First-team Academic All-District honorees advance to the Capital One Academic All-America Team ballot, where first, second and third-team All-America honorees will be selected later this month.
