Yale Squash Places Second at Nationals; Edged 5-4 by No. 1 Trinity

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. -- In a clear improvement over Yale's 7-2 loss to Trinity earlier in the season, the No. 2 Bulldogs came away with a close 5-4 loss against the top ranked college squash team in the nation in the finals of the CSA National Tournament. The Bulldogs defeated Dartmouth and Princeton to reach the finals, showing strong performances by the team.
At No. 1, sophomore Hywel Robinson fell to Vikram Malhotra in three games. Senior captain Naishadh Lalwani fought back to win the second game after dropping the first, but was unable to take the match at No. 2. At No. 3, sophomore Kenneth Chan overcame a deficit in the first game to sweep the next three, earning a point for the Bulldogs. Juniors John Roberts and Robert Berner, and senior Christopher Plimpton all won their matches, at No. 5, No. 8, and No. 9, respectively.
Next weekend, the Bulldogs will travel to Hanover to compete in the CSA Individual Championships.
