Cornell to Face Louisville in the First Round of the 2011 NCAA Men's Tennis Championships

ITHACA, N.Y. -- The No. 42 Cornell men's tennis team will make its first-ever appearance in the 2011 NCAA Division I Men's Tennis Championships when it takes Louisville at Kentucky's Hilary J. Boone Tennis Complex in Lexington, Ky.
Cornell, the No. 3 seed in the regional bracket, takes on second-seeded Louisville at Noon on Friday, May 13 followed by host Kentucky, ranked 10th in the latest Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) Rankings, facing Cleveland State at 3 p.m. The winners of the two first-round matches meet Saturday, May 14, at 3 p.m. The second-round winner advances to Stanford, Calif., where the remaining rounds will take place May 19-24 at the Taube Tennis Center.
The Big Red earned its trip to the NCAA tournament by virtue of winning the Ivy League's automatic qualifier after going 26-4 and a perfect 7-0 in the Ancient Eight.
No. 24 Louisville is making its third-straight and eighth overall NCAA Tournament appearance. The Cardinals (17-11) captured their second consecutive BIG EAST Conference title to earn the league's automatic bid to the NCAA tournament.
