Six Men's Tennis Teams, 33 Student-Athletes Receive 2010-11 ITA Academic Honors

SKILLMAN, N.J. -- Ivy League men's tennis had six teams and 33 student-athletes honored by the Intercollegiate Tennis Association for academic achievement during the 2010-11 season.

Brown, Cornell, Dartmouth, Harvard, Princeton and Yale were named ITA All-Academic Teams for maintaining a cumulative team grade point average of 3.20 or above (on a 4.00 scale).

Individually, 33 Ivy men's tennis players earned ITA Scholar-Athlete status. To qualify for the scholar-athlete honor a player must meet the following criteria: 1) be a varsity letterwinner, 2) have a grade point average of at least 3.50 (on a 4.0 scale) for the current academic year, and 3) have been enrolled at their present school for at least two semesters (including freshman thorough senior year).

Ivy student-athletes named 2011 ITA Scholar-Athletes were:

Brown (6) -- Kendrick Au, Tom Deighton, Miles Garriques, David Neff, Charlie Posner, and Andrew Yazmer

Cornell (5) -- Evan Bernstein, Zhongming Chen, Andy Gauthier, Jon Jaklitsch, and Mirza Klis

Dartmouth (8) -- Alex De Chatellus, Brandon DeBot, Stephen Greif, Chris Ho, Michael Jacobs, John Kelly, Curtis Roby, and Bryan Song

Harvard (7) -- Alexi Chijoff-Evans, Alistair Felton, Casey Macmaster, Davis Mangham, Robertson McAnultz, William McNamee, and Jonathan Pearlman

Yale (7) -- Jordan Abergel, Ryan Berman, Erik Bluemnkranz, Patrick Chase, Zachary Dean, Daniel Hoffman, and Joel Samacha
