PRINCETON, N.J. -- The 2010 cross country season is off and running this weekend as seven men's and women's Ivy squads compete for the first time this fall.
Cornell kicks things off Friday, Sept. 10, in a dual meet against Army in West Point, N.Y.
On Saturday, Sept. 11, Princeton head to University Park, Penn., for the Harry Groves Spiked Shoe Invitational, hosted by Penn State. Dartmouth and Yale compete in the Dartmouth Invitational in Hanover, N.H., Penn heads up to Van Courtlandt Park in New York for the Fordham Fiasco and Brown takes part in the Boston College Invitational.
The first week of Ivy League action concludes Sunday, Sept. 12 with Columbia traveling to Burlington, Vermont, for a tri-meet with Vermont and Lipscomb.
Harvard, the lone school not competing this weekend, opens action Sept. 18 at the Iona Meet of Champions.
The 2010 season culminates for the eight Ivy squads on Oct. 29 when they all go head-to-head at Van Courtlandt Park for the Heptagonal Cross Country Championships. In 2009, Columbia won the men's title while Princeton claimed the women's title.
