Six Ivies Named to 2011 Louisville Slugger/NFCA Division I All-Northeast Region Team

STARKVILLE, Miss. -- The National Fastpitch Coaches Association has announced the 2011 Louisville Slugger/NFCA Division I All-Region teams, honoring student-athletes from the 10 NFCA regions. A total of 258 players from 126 different institutions comprise this season's regional teams, including first and second teams for each region. Six Ivy League student-athletes were named to the varios All-Northeast Region team, including five from Harvard and one from Brown.

The all-region teams were chosen by NFCA member coaches from each region, and all the honorees will now be eligible for selection to the Louisville Slugger/NFCA All-America first, second or third teams. In addition, conference pitchers and players of the year! not selected to the regional teams were added for All-America consideration.

The Northeast Region team features two first team selections from the Harvard Crimson in Ivy League Player of the Year Ellen Macadam and Ivy League Rookie of the Year Kasey Lange. Ivy League Pitcher of the Year Rachel Brown was named to the second team, along with  Crimson catcher Allison Scott and outfielder Stephanie Regan. Brown third baseman Stephanie Thompson was also named to the second team.
