Harvard's Lange, Brown and Cornell's Bucolo Earn Final Softball Weekly Honors
PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Kasey Lange (Ladera Ranch, Calif.) finished her
rookie regular-season campaign in a stellar note, helping Harvard
to a sweep of Dartmouth and earning her second Player of the Week
award for the 2011 season. Lange started the series with a
three-run homer, and two runs scored as the Crimson took game one,
8-1. She went 4-for-4 in game two Saturday in Hanover, scoring two
more runs and driving one in. Lange popped her second home run of
the weekend in a 3-for-4 showing Sunday in game one and ended game
two with a two-run blast to center, picking up four RBIs in the
series finale. She slugged a daunting 1.375 for the week and played
error-free at third base for the Crimson. Lange hasn't struck out
since April 9 against Cornell, a span of 17 games.

PITCHER OF THE WEEK
Rachel Brown (San Diego, Calif.) played a big
role in helping Harvard to a series sweep of Dartmouth last
weekend, picking up her third Plitcher of the Week honor. The
junior started the series off with a complete-game win, scattering
three hits and allowing no earned runs while striking out six for
her 18th win of the season. A relief appearance earned her win No.
19 (a new Harvard record) in Sunday's first game, and she picked up
win No. 20 as game two's starter, going four innings and striking
out five while allowing just one run. Brown posted a 0.57 ERA for
the week and tallied three wins in three appearances. She is now
the Ivy League's all-time, single-season strikeout leader.
