Women's Basketball Weekend Preview for Feb. 25-26
Complete Ivy League Women's Basketball Weekly Release
PRINCETON, N.J. -- This weekend marks the final road trips for four Ivy squads and the final home stand for the other four in the second to last weekend of Ivy League action gets underway Friday and Saturday. Columbia, Cornell, Dartmouth and Harvard all host a pair of games, and also all honor a group of seniors playing in their home whites for the final time.
On Saturday, Columbia will honor Kathleen Barry and Lauren Dwyer, Cornell will honor Susie Doyle, Dartmouth will honor Cassie Cooper, Brittney Smith, Meghan McFee, Louise Vanden Bosch, and Harvard will honor Christine Matera, Claire Wheeler, Emma Markley and Jackie Alemany.
Meanwhile, some key match-ups are on the weekend's slate, the most significant being Saturday's game between current second-place Harvard and current third-place Yale. Should both teams enter the game win Friday wins under their belts, a Bulldog win would push the teams into a tie for second while a Harvard win would widen the gap between the two. A Crimson win would also potentially set up a showdown the following weekend at Princeton with the Ivy title, or a shared title, on the line.
