PRINCETON, N.J. -- The toughest slate of the Ivy League women's basketball schedule is upon us.

Over the next six weeks, the Ancient Eight will play on Friday evening, travel Friday night and play again on Saturday evening. Whichever squad survives the 14-Game Tournament will advance to the NCAA Tournament with the League's automatic qualifier berth.

The four-time defending champion Princeton Tigers (10-5, 1-0 Ivy) proved that the Ivy League title still goes through them, thanks to an 84-53 win at Penn (10-5, 0-1 Ivy) in the League opener for both teams. That victory improved Princeton's League record to 55-2 over its current run of four-straight championships; the two losses were both to the Tigers' Friday night opponent, the Harvard Crimson (12-4, 2-0 Ivy).

Tigers junior Blake Dietrick has stepped up after the graduation of two-time Player of the Year Niveen Rasheed, averaging career-highs in scoring (15.4 ppg) and rebounding (4.9), while shooting 51.6 from the field and 46.4 from downtown. Harvard has been led by senior Christine Clark (16.4 ppg, 4.5 rpg, 2.4 apg) and junior Temi Fagbenle (13.6 ppg, 9.6 rpg, 1.7 bpg).

The Quakers will host Dartmouth (3-13, 0-2 Ivy) on Friday and the Crimson on Saturday, as they try to bounce back from their early setback to Princeton. Penn is coming off a 2-0 week in which it won at Temple and against NJIT, with junior Kara Bonenberger averaging 19.0 points, 8.5 rebounds, 1.5 assists and 1.0 block and freshman Sydney Stipanovich contributing 13.5 points, 10.0 rebounds, 6.5 blocks and 3.0 assists in the two games. Big Green first year head coach Belle Koclanes will look to the League's leading scorer in freshman Fanni Szabo (16.5 ppg) to lead her team to its first League victory of the season. Dartmouth will face Princeton on Saturday.

Meanwhile, Yale (8-8, 2-0 Ivy) looks to remain undefeated in Ivy play with games at Columbia (4-12, 1-1 Ivy) and Cornell (9-7, 1-1 Ivy), both of which will also host Brown (6-10, 0-2 Ivy) this weekend. The Bulldogs are 2-0 to open League play for the first time since 2010-11, when they started 3-0 en route to a tie for second-place and the Ivy's automatic bid to the WNIT.

The Lions, under first-year head coach Stephanie Glance, have been led by three-time Rookie of the Week Carolyn Binder, who is averaging a team-best 10.3 points per game in just 19.0 minutes per contest. Brown senior Lauren Clarke is second in the League with 16.4 points per game, while Cornell senior Allyson DiMagno leads her team in scoring (13.8 ppg) and rebounding (7.5 rpg).

All of this weekend's games – in fact, all the games over the rest of the season – will be streamed on The Ivy League® Digital Network. Fans will be able to watch all four of each day's matchups at the same time thanks to the Digital Network's quad view.
