PRINCETON, N.J. -- Brown and Princeton were the final two Ivy League teams to close out their women's golf fall slates, with the Bears playing at the Lehigh Invitational on Oct. 22 and 23 and Princeton playing at the Betsy Rawls Longhorn Invitational, which concluded on Nov. 2.
The Bears finished their fall season in style, firing a final round 298 to come from behind to capture the Lehigh Invitational, played at the par-72, 6,005 yard Saucon Valley Country Club's Grace Course. Freshman Stephanie Hsieh tied for the individual championship, but lost medalist honors in a one-hole playoff.
Brown's team championship came on rounds of 309-298--607 to earn the title by five shots over second place Seton Hall (611). Hsieh shot rounds of 73-74--147 to place first for the second time this season. She also placed first at the Richmond Spider Invitational.
The Tigers concluded their fall season with a 15th-place showing at the Betsy Rawls Longhorn Invitational. Sophomore Kelly Shon led the Tigers by tying for 11th overall.
Shon closed with a 77 after shooting 71 and 74 over the first two days at the University of Texas Golf Club in Austin, Texas. She finished eight shots off the lead at six-over par. Princeton finished 15th in a field in which 10 of the 15 teams were ranked in Golfweek's top-50 nationally.
