Cornell, Dartmouth and Harvard Advance to ECAC Women's Hockey Tournament Semifinals

PRINCETON, N.J. -- The Ivy League comprises three of the four teams teams remaining in the 2011 ECAC Women's Hockey Tournament as top-seeded Cornell hosts Quinipiac in one semifinal and second-seeded Harvard hosts third-seeded Dartmouth in the other semifinal on Thursday, March 3.
The semifinal winners will meet for the tournament championship on Saturday, March 5 in a game that will televised live in HD on the NHL Network.
Cornell, which captured its second-straight Ivy League and ECAC Hockey regular-season titles this season, swept Rensselaer in the best-of-three quarterfinals as did Harvard over seventh-seeded St. Lawrence. Dartmouth had to rebound from a loss in its first quarterfinal game with sixth-seeded Clarkson to win games two and three to advance.
The 2011 championship marks the second-straight year of the format change for the semifinals and championship game to conducted on the campuses of the highest remaining seeds.
