PRINCETON, N.J. -- Five Ivies will take part in the ECAC Women's Ice Hockey Tournament's quarterfinal round this weekend.
Harvard (21-4-4 overall), the Ivy League champion this season, is the No. 2 seed and will host seventh-seeded Yale (8-14-7) on Friday at 7 pm, Saturday at 4 pm and Sunday at 4 pm, if necessary, in a best-of-three series. All three games of that series will be streamed live on The Ivy League Digital Network.
In Ithaca, N.Y., third-seeded Cornell (20-5-4), the defending ECAC Hockey Tournament champion, will host sixth-seeded Princeton (14-11-4). That series will begin Friday at 3:30 pm with games 2 and 3 on Saturday and Sunday at 2 pm. All three contests of that best-of-three series will also be streamed on The Ivy League Digital Network.
Dartmouth (9-18-1) is the No. 8 seed for the tournament. The Big Green will hit the road to take on top-seeded Clarkson beginning Friday at 3:30 pm. Game 2 is slated for Saturday at 3 pm and game 3, if necessary, will be Sunday at 2 pm.
Cornell has won three of the last four titles. An Ivy League school has won 15 of the last 16 titles. Harvard last title came in 2008, while Dartmouth last won it in 2007. Princeton and Yale are looking for their first titles.
The semifinals and final will be March 8 and 9 at the highest remaining seed.
