Women's Lacrosse Weekly Release - Week 1
PRINCETON, N.J. -- The eight Ivy League squads take to the field this weekend, officially beginning 2011 action.
Seven of the Ivy’s eight teams play their season-opener on Saturday, Feb. 26, including the League’s three nationally ranked programs who all open at home. No. 6/7 Penn begins its quest for a fifth consecutive NCAA Tournament appearance when it hosts Drexel at Franklin Field. No. 14/14 Dartmouth hosts New Hampshire and No. 19 Princeton takes on No. 20 Johns Hopkins.
Other games Saturday include Brown at Sacred Heart, Yale at Holy Cross, Columbia at Monmouth and Cornell playing host to Rutgers.
On Sunday, Harvard makes the 3,000 mile trek across the country to take on No. 13/6 Stanford, who is 3-0 with wins over Notre Dame, Fresno State and Syracuse.
