Dartmouth, Penn Headed to NCAA Women's Lacrosse Championship

INDIANAPOLIS -- Dartmouth and Penn were among the 16 teams announced by the NCAA Division I Women's Lacrosse Committee for the 2012 Division I Women's Lacrosse Championship.
Dartmouth and Penn are both on the road for the first round as the Big Green will travel to Syracuse for a first-round game on Sunday, May 13 at 4 p.m. while the Quakers will take on Loyola (Md.) earlier in the day at 1 p.m.
Dartmouth is making its 13th NCAA Tournament appearance after winning its first Ivy League Tournament title earlier in the day. Penn is making its sixth straigh and eigth overall trip to the postseason. The Ivy League is 60-50 (.545) in 54 NCAA Tournament appearances all-time with four national championships.
The eight first-round games will be conducted Saturday or Sunday, May 12-13 with four quarterfinal games will be played Saturday or Sunday, May 19-20. Preliminary round games will be played on the campuses of competing schools.
The winners of the four quarterfinal games will advance to the semifinals and final hosted by Stony Brook on May 25 and 27 at Kenneth P. LaValle Stadium. The semifinal games will be shown live on ESPN3 at 5:30 and 8 p.m. ET. The championship game will be shown live on ESPNU at 8 p.m.
