Princeton's McGarvie Named to U.S. Women's Lacrosse National Team

BALTIMORE, Md. -- Former Princeton women’s lacrosse All-America Holly McGarvie '09 has been named to the 2011-12 women's national senior team it was announced by US Lacrosse on July 31.

McGarvie is one of 36 players that was selected after a three-day tryout. The 2009 Ivy League co-Player of the Year, she finished her career with two Tewaaraton Trophy nominations and four All-Ivy honors. McGarvie helped her team to four NCAA Tournament appearances and is in the top-10 in Princeton history in points, assists and ground balls in a career.

This team will lay the foundation for the 2013 team that will compete in the 2013 Federation of International Lacrosse (FIL) World Cup in Oshawa, Ont.

This team will come together for several events this year including: Stars & Stripes Weekend in October, Champion Challenge in January and conduct numerous national team player clinics throughout the year at various places around the country.
