WASHINGTON, D.C. -- Nine Ivy League women's
lacrosse players representing five Ivy teams have been named to the
2012 Women’s Tewaaraton Award Watch List, it was announced
yesterday. The list includes top players across all three divisions
of collegiate lacrosse and serves to highlight the early contenders
for the 2012 Tewaaraton Award.
Dartmouth, Harvard, Penn and Princeton each have two nominees while Cornell has one.
The Tewaaraton Award selection committee will make additions to the list as the season progresses. In late April, the list will be narrowed to 24 and those honorees will earn the distinction of Tewaaraton Nominees. Then, in mid-May, the five Tewaaraton Finalists will be announced and invited to the Tewaaraton Award Ceremony, which will take place on May 31 at the Smithsonian Institute's National Museum of the American Indian in Washington D.C.
Last season, Penn attacker Erin Brennan was among the 24 finalists for the prestigious award.
