Ivy League Ready for NCAA Wrestling Championship

DES MOINES, Iowa -- Of the 23 Ivies competing in the NCAA Division I Wrestling Championship, eight have been seeded after the NCAA announced the brackets for the three-day event, which will take place at the Wells Fargo Arena in Des Moines, Iowa.
Cornell leads the way with four wrestlers seeded in their respective weight classes, including three-time NCAA champion Kyle Dake, who is No. 1 at 165. Senior Steve Bosak is No. 4 at 184, freshman Nahshon Garrett is No. 6 at 125 and junior Michael Nevinger is No. 11 at 141, right behind Penn sophomore C.J. Cobb, who is No. 10.
Besides Cobb, the Quakers also saw senior Micah Burak get seeded eighth at 197. Columbia and Harvard each have one wrestler seeded in their bracket, as Lion senior Steve Santos is fifth at 149 and Crimson senior Walter Peppelman is 11th at 157.
Last season Cornell placed fourth, while Harvard finished 30th and Penn took 32nd. Of the Ivies competing in the Tournament, five were All-Americans last year, including Dake and Bosak from Cornell, Peppelman and Steven Keith (141) from Harvard and Burak from Penn.
The NCAA tournament will begin on Thursday, March 21 at 12 p.m. All six sessions will be broadcast either over the web or live on television by the ESPN networks. Thursday's action in Session I and Session II will be live on ESPN3.com with four mats. The quarterfinals will also be available on ESPN3. The quarterfinals and semifinals will be broadcast live on ESPNU with side-by-side mat coverage, while the finals will be live on ESPN on Saturday, March 23 at 8 p.m.
