NEW YORK -- The No. 10 Cornell wrestling team won its 11th-straight Ivy League title on Saturday evening after defeating Columbia 29-12. The Big Red's victory was its second of the day, as Cornell defeated Hofstra, 30-15, on Long Island in the early afternoon. Cornell (5-0 Ivy) clinched its 10th-straight undefeated conference season, as it has not lost an Ivy match since Feb. 2, 2002, when it fell at Penn, 21-9.

Seniors Kyle Dake and Steve Bosak both picked up two pins, as Dake moves to a career-high 13 on the season. Cornell's 11 consecutive Ivy titles comprise the longest current streak of any Ivy team in any sport.

Cornell won three of the first four bouts in its match against the Lions, including a major decision at 125 when No. 6 Nashon Garrett defeated Penn Gottfried, 11-1. After Columbia's Matt Bystol defeated Bricker Dixon at 133-pounds, 3-1, the Big Red rattled off consecutive wins at 141 (No. 10 Mike Nevinger) and 149 (No. 14 Chris Villalonga) to take a 10-3 lead.

The Lions would not go away quietly, however, twice cutting the lead to four. No. 17 Jake O'Hara defeated the Big Red's Jesse Shanaman at 157, 5-2, to make the score 10-6, and after Dake's second pin of the day at 165, Columbia's Stephen West returned the favor at 174 to bring the Lions back to within four at 16-12.

But the Big Red closed out the contest with three consecutive wins, including a pair of extra point victories. Bosak won by fall at 184 and Jace Bennett earned a major decision at 197, defeating Nick Mills, 9-1. Jacob Aiken-Phillips closed out the match with a 9-6 decision over Chris Manna in the heavyweight bout.
