Six Women's Squash Teams In Contention for the 2011 Howe Cup

PRINCETON, N.J. -- Six Ivy League women’s squash teams will vie for the 2011 Howe Cup this weekend in Princeton, N.J., which is awarded to the Women’s National Team Champion. Based on the draw, the Ivy League is guaranteed to have at least one finalist and three of the four semifinalists.

Coming off an undefeated Ivy League season (6-0), the Yale Bulldogs have earned the No. 1 seed in the eight-team draw. In the first round, they face Ivy rival Dartmouth, who got into the draw as the eighth seed. Also in first round action, fifth-seeded Princeton takes on fourth-seeded Penn. The other all Ivy League matchup pits seventh-seeded Cornell against second-seeded Harvard.

Brown earned the ninth overall seed and will play in the “B Division” and pursue the Kurtz Cup. Also in Brown’s bracket are the Columbia Lions. Brown plays George Washington in the first round, while Columbia takes on Williams.
