Women's Squash All-Ivy -- 2012-13

PRINCETON, N.J. -- Harvard sophomore Amanda Sobhy (Sea Cliff, N.Y.), the 2013 College Squash Association Women's Individual Champion, was named the 2013 Ivy League Player of the Year on Friday in balloting of the League's coaches.

Sobhy completed her second-straight perfect season earlier this month, downing Trinity freshman Kanzy El Defrawy for the individual crown to run her career record to a perfect 30-0. She has now gone 15-0 in consecutive seasons on her way to winning consecutive League Player of the Year honors. Last year, Sobhy was also the League's Rookie of the Year.

Earning Ivy League Rookie of the Year honors this season was Penn freshman Yan Xin (Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia). Playing in the No. 1 and 2 positions in her first collegiate season, Xin was 14-4 on the year, falling in the semifinal round of the individual championships to Sobhy.

Xin and Sobhy were both unanimous All-Ivy selections. Joining them on the 10-person All-Ivy squad were Cornell junior Jessenia Pacheco (Bronx, N.Y.) and sophomore Danielle Letourneau (Calgary, Alberta, Canada), Harvard senior Laura Gemmell (Toronto) and sophomore Haley Mendez (Brooklyn, N.Y.), Penn senior Nabilia Ariffin (Penang, Malaysia), Princeton senior Julie Cerullo (Brooklyn, N.Y.) and junior Elizabeth Eyre (Gladwyne, Pa.), and Yale junior Camilla Tomlinson (Derbyshire, United Kingdom).

Cerullo and Gemmell earned their fourth-consecutive All-Ivy selections. Gemmell was a unanimous selection all four years, earning League Player of the year honors in 2010 and 2011. Penn's Ariffin was a unanimous All-Ivy selection for the third straight year. Tomlinson also earned her third straight honor, while Letourneau and Eyre earned their second straight.
