Top-Ranked Harvard Claims Women's Squash Title Outright

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. -- The top-ranked Harvard women's squash team clinched its 19th Ivy League title and third in the past five seasons as the Crimson downed No. 10 Brown, 9-0, on Sunday afternoon inside the Murr Center. With the victory, the Crimson concludes its regular season with an undefeated record of 12-0, marking just 13th time Harvard has posted an undefeated season in program history.
Amanda Sobhy led the way for the Crimson as she downed Dori Rahbar, 11-4, 11-4, 11-0 in the top position, while Katie Tutrone toppled Sarah Domenick and Saumya Karki edged Hannah Hay-Smith in the second and third positions respectively. Michelle Gemmell picked up a win in the fourth spot.
Julianne Chu jumped out to a 1-0 lead before dropping the second set,11-4. The junior came back to win the third and fourth and claim the win in the fifth spot. Dileas MacGowan, Isabelle Dowling, Megan Murray and Caroline Monrad swept their opponents in the bottom of the ladder to help secure the win.
The Crimson will take a short break before competing at the CSA Women's Championship to decide the national champion at the Jadwin Squash Courts at Princeton University Feb. 21-23.
