BLACKSBURG, Va. -- Yale freshman diver Lilybet MacRae has qualified for the 2014 NCAA Swimming & Diving Championships following her excellent performance on Day Two of the NCAA Zone A Diving Championships.
MacRae finished third in Tuesday's three-meter competition, one day after finishing third in the one-meter competition.
MacRae sat in seventh place following the prelimary round, scoring a 291.15. She was in a similar position on Monday and was again able to claw her way into third place, scoring a total of 574.90.
As the top two finishers in the three-meter were the same as the one-meter, MacRae was able to move up and grab one of six qualification spots for the NCAA Championships.
The NCAA Championships take place from March 20-22 in Minneapolis, Minn.
