NEW ORLEANS -- The U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) has announced the 10 individuals who have been named to The Bowerman Preseason Women's Watch List featuring Dartmouth senior Abbey D'Agostino.
The Bowerman is presented annually to the most outstanding individual male and female collegiate track & field student-athletes in the nation.
Last season, on the strength of two indoor NCAA titles and another during the outdoor season, D’Agostino was named a semifinalist for the award, the highest finish ever by an Ivy League student-athlete.
D’Agostino heads into the 2014 indoor season as one of the country’s most elite talents. A five-time NCAA champion across cross country, indoor and outdoor track and field, she is coming off a fall in which she won the 2013 NCAA Cross Country National Championship and earned USTFCCCA National Athlete of the Year and the Honda Sports Award for cross country. D'Agostino and Shanieka Thomas of San Diego State are the only two on the preseason list to come from non-BCS schools.
No other Ivy League student-athlete garnered a vote on either the men’s or women’s side.
