EUGENE, Ore. -- The second day of the 2014 NCAA
Outdoor Track & Field Championships saw a number of Ivy League
athletes in action in the semifinals of their respective events,
including Cornell sophomore Max Hairston (14th,
110mH), Columbia senior John Gregorek (19th,
1,500m), Princeton junior Eddie Owens (23rd,
steeplechase) and the Cornell women’s 4x400m relay team of
juniors Zena Kolliesuah and Elyse
Wilkinson, senior Ebolutalese Airewele
and sophomore Udeme Akpaete (13th).
The only Ivy competing in a final was Princeton freshman Megan Curham, who placed 11th out of 24 runners in the 10K, crossing the line in 33:29.03.
Day one of the 2014 NCAA Outdoor Track and Field Championships featured a national champion in the women’s hammer throw (Princeton’s Julia Ratcliffe) and a national runner-up in the men’s shot put (Cornell’s Stephen Mozia).
Day three of the Championships kick off at 3:30 p.m. ET, with ESPNU and ESPN3’s coverage beginning at 7:30 p.m. ET.
