Harvard's Docter Named Capital One Academic All-District in Women's Volleyball

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. -- Harvard senior Taylor Docter has been named to the Capital One Academic All-District® Women's Volleyball First Team for District 1, as voted on by the College of Sports Information Directors of America.
Docter has left her mark on the Crimson record books this season. The Los Altos, Calif., native recently moved into Harvard's all-time top-10 for kills, and currently ranks eighth with 963 kills. She is fourth in attack attempts (3,370), sixth in aces (98) and eighth in kills per set (2.67).
Docter is a human developmental and regenerative biology major with a 3.58 GPA. In 2011, she was named to the All-Ivy League second team and Academic All-Ivy.
She garnered Ivy League Player of the Week recognition on Oct. 16 of this season after leading the Crimson to two-straight victories against Cornell and Columbia. She currently ranks third in the conference with 3.18 kills per set and 3.72 points per set.
This marks the fifth-straight year a member of the Crimson has earned Academic All-District® honors.
The 2012 Capital One Academic All-District Team award honors the nation's top student-athletes for their combined academic and athletic accomplishments. First-team Academic All-District® honorees advance to the Capital One Academic All-America® Team ballot, where first-, second- and third-team All-America honorees will be selected later this month.
