PRINCETON, N.J. – Yale wrapped up its third-straight Ivy League title and fourth in five years last weekend when it rolled past Penn and Princeton on the road.

The Bulldogs ran their winning streak to 13-straight matches with a 3-1 win at Penn and a 3-0 sweep at Princeton, giving them a three-game lead with two games left in the conference slate. Yale, 16-5 overall, is a perfect 12-0 in league play and has not lost since September 15. This coming weekend, the Bulldogs will attempt to join the 2007 Princeton Tigers as the only team to go unbeaten since the Ancient Eight moved to a double-round robin slate in 2001. Yale hosts Harvard and Brown this weekend.

With the championship in hand, Yale clinched its fourth trip to the NCAA Tournament, having appeared previously in 1978, 2008 and 2011. The Bulldogs and Hawai’i became the first two teams into the field of 64 by wrapping up automatic bids on Saturday night.

Sophomore outside hitter Mollie Rogers led the way for Yale with 16 kills against Penn and 15 against Princeton.

In other action around the league, Princeton and Penn both got splits over the weekend, each defeating Brown while losing to Yale, as did Cornell, Harvard and Columbia. Columbia senior outside hitter Megan Gaughn recorded her second match of 20-plus kills in as many weeks with 20 against Harvard on Friday night. Penn junior outside hitter Kristen Etterbeek also had 20 kills with just three errors in the Quakers’ win over Brown on Saturday. She finished the night with a season-high 22 points and also had 17 digs.

Columbia’s Colleen Brennan also had a big night against Harvard on Friday, recording 57 assists in four sets – the third highest in the Ivy this season overall and most in a four-set match.

Ivy League in the NCAA Statistics

She is chasing the all-time, single-single mark of 6.87 set last season by Villanova's Kim Maroon. The Quakers are also still in the top spot in the same category at 21.68 per game. Yale sits right behind Penn in second at 19.96 digs per set. The Bulldogs are also in the top 10 in kills (2nd, 14.88) and assists (2nd, 13.88) per set.

Individually, Princeton senior outside hitter Lydia Rudnick is 30th in kills per set at 4.24 and 38th in points per set, averaging 4.77. Rogers had 16 kills in a four-set win over Penn and followed that up with 15 kills with a .316 hitting percentage as Yale swept Princeton to clinch the regular season crown. Both of her kill totals were match-highs.
