PRINCETON, N.J. -- Princeton, the 2010 Ivy League champion, is ranked No. 22 in the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) national cross country preseason poll, released Tuesday. Additionally, all eight Ivy programs are ranked in the top 15 in their respective regional polls.

The Tigers placed 15th as a team at the 2010 NCAA Championship and, along with the No. 22 national ranking, have also earned a No. 4 rank in the Mid-Atlantic Region. Penn also earned a top 10 spot in the Mid-Atlantic Region, coming in at No. 7.

In the Northeast Region, Columbia is No. 3, Cornell is No. 6, Brown is No. 7, Dartmouth is No. 8, Harvard is No. 12 and Yale is No. 13.

The Ivy League is looking forward to another strong season as a whole, as just five of the top 20 finishers from the 2010 Heptagonal Championship were seniors, and four of the top 10 were freshmen or sophomores. That underclassmen list includes Brown's Margaret Connelly, Columbia's Caroline McDonough, Cornell's Devin McMahon and Harvard's Jeanne Mack. The returning list also includes 2010 Ivy individual champion Alex Banfich, who enters her senior year at Princeton and seeking to become the 10th repeat individual champion in League history.

Six of the eight Ivy squads get underway over the Sept. 9-10 weekend, followed by Harvard and Yale competing in their first meets on Sept. 17.
